Ms. Pinkerton’s years of practice has included a strong focus on high-net worth and complex matters, including high-conflict child custody and visitation matters. There is no issue that Ms. Pinkerton has not handled in the Family Law arena, ranging from regular child and spousal support, domestic violence and restraining orders all the way to the complex matters involving asset and debt division ranging in the tens of millions of dollars.

Ms. Pinkerton has countless hours of trial and court experience, but she also has extensive experience as a mediator. She provides private mediation services to parties who desire to settle their differences in a cooperative and settlement-focused manner.  Ms. Pinkerton is not only able to assist clients who wish to resolve their matters without being forced to go to Court, but she is also is a skilled litigator who can take a case to a contested trial when such services are necessary. 

Ms. Pinkerton is also one of the few attorneys in San Diego that has been selected to serve on a panel as an advocate for children, commonly known as “minor’s counsel.” As minor’s counsel Ms. Pinkerton represents the interests of the children during a contested custody matter. Such cases are often among the most high conflict and require a skilled attorney capable of navigating such difficult terrain that the children of the case need their own attorney. Ms. Pinkerton has earned the respect of judges throughout the County by virtue of being a frequent appointee.

Volunteer Work and Personal Interests

Since 2015, Ms. Pinkerton has regularly volunteered to act as a Settlement Conference Attorney, assigned by the Court offering her services free of charge to help parties try to settle their case without the need of going to trial. Ms. Pinkerton has been a resident of San Diego since moving here for law school in 2003, after completing her undergraduate studies at Duke University. Ms. Pinkerton is an avid college basketball fan and tennis player who enjoys each opportunity she can find to get on the Court.
